Bird Photography Bootcamp is a comprehensive workshop equipping you to get better, more stunning images.

Session 1: Bird Photography Basics – Saturday, June 1, 2019 – 7pm

Kicking off our workshop will be an extensive look at the tips, tools, and techniques for being out in the field. We will cover:

  • Appropriate attire
  • Tips and tricks for getting close to the birds and getting them to come to you
  • Being aware of your surroundings at all times
  • Camera settings and techniques
  • Tools of composition
  • When to pull the trigger, and things to avoid
  • And more!

Session 2: Getting out in the field – Sunday, June 2, 2019 – 7am

Now that we are prepared, we will head out to practice and hone our skills. We will go searching for birds to photograph, utilizing the tips and tricks we learned in session 1 to get nicely composed shots we can be proud to share.

Session 3: Editing and finishing our images* – Sunday, June 2, 2019 – 11am

In this final session, we will bring our photos to the editing table were we will learn about proper exposure, color correction, noise removal, and some other tips and tricks to bring out the best in your photos, to make them truly stand out. We will learn what photos to keep and which ones to delete. We will work exclusively in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop for this session.*
